The Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision (USEN) is a state medical preventive institution, whose main tasks include:

organization, within its competence, of a complex of sanitary-hygienic, anti-epidemic and preventive disinfection measures of meetings, conferences and other special events with the participation of the Leadership of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

organizing and conducting, within its competence, state sanitary and epidemiological supervision at subordinate facilities of state authorities and the Main Medical Directorate, in relation to the attached contingent of persons and their family members, in medical and preventive institutions of the State Medical University, as well as at non-subordinate urban, regional facilities on a contractual basis.

The USEN consists of the following divisions:

• Sanitary and Hygienic Department;
• Epidemiological Department;
• Radiation Safety and Physical Factors Control Department with Laboratory;
• Sanitary and hygienic laboratory;
• Bacteriological Laboratory;
• Preventive toxic and hygienic laboratory;
• Department for the provision of paid services and the issuance of sanitary and hygienic certificates;
• Department of preventive disinfection.
